Where do I park?
There is ample street parking available around Bain Park, Town Green and Laurieton sportsfields.
What time can I arrive from?
Screening doesn’t start till after dark so it is recommended patrons don’t arrive before 6pm. Seating is first in first served and the designated space will fit around 1,000 people who can comfortably see the screen.
What time does the film start?
Screenings start at approximately 8:10pm, but will vary slightly depending on sundown.
What are the seating arrangements?
Patrons will be required to bring their own seating to all Hastings Moonlight Movie venues. The grounds in front of the screen will be divided into two sections. Closest to the screen will be for those using rugs, cushions and low beach chairs. The back half of the grounds will be designated for those using beach and camping/director chairs.
Can I BYO?
You are most welcome to bring your own food and drinks or enjoy something from the many restaurants and takeaways surrounding Bain Park, Town Green and in the Laurieton town centre.
What happens if it rains?
Moonlight Movies is an outdoor event and subject to weather conditions. As this is a free event there is no compensation for patrons should bad weather affect the screening. If the movie is cancelled due to extreme winds or heavy rain notification through local media will be made as soon as possible and ushers will be available on site to advise patrons.
What do I need to bring?
Something to sit on, refreshments and perhaps warm clothing just in case the evening gets cool. It may also be useful to bring a torch to make packing up easier at the end of the night.
What happens to lost property?
Please report any lost property to an official usher before you leave the venue. Leave your details with them. If you realise you have lost something after you leave the venue please contact Council.
Can I bring a dog?
Pets are not permitted at any of the movie screenings.
Are there toilets on site?
There are public facilities at all venues which will be monitored and cleaned each day.
